Feb 2012 Super Bowl in Indianapolis today!!
Wow, ramp full at MQJ Indy Regional for Super Bowl and parking ’em on runway 16/34. NO piston aircraft anywhere. 14 still inbound at 2:25, Gulfstreams, Citations, Challenger, Lears….! The high rollers coming in fast. I shot this pic from BAK Columbus, Indiana, 50 miles south, at noon. Stacking up there fast.

Posted at 10:15h, 08 FebruaryEvery once in a while we get a glimpse of how much money there is floating around. I was warned not to go, but Sun Valley was sooo close to Smiley Creek (Idaho) last summer. Arriving, I found out there was a HUGE business convention. Landing was by reservation only and they were booking jets in 15 minute intervals the morning I “popped in” for fuel in my Super Cub. They squeezed me between two jet landing reserved times (I could actually taxi under some of the wings) and even waved the $100 landing fee. Whew! Next time though, I’ll listen when people tell me, “You really don’t want to go there today, Lisa.”
