I procrastinated too long, and the special rate for us is sold out. If anyone has a room they would like to split, please let me know. I’m planning on coming in Thursday & leaving Sunday. Thanks!

    BTW, regular rate is $119/night.

I was reading the info about Saturday, what museum are you referring to with the tour?

      Marie,

The Waco Historical Society has a Museum dedicated to the Waco Aircraft Company – Wacos (like “taco”) were built in Troy Ohio from the mid 20’s to the late 40’s. It is an actual airport where the museum is located (about 15 nm north of Dayton. You can check out the museum at http://www.wacoairmuseum.org 🙂

I’ve got a room booked at the Courtyard for both Friday and Saturday nights. If any of you ladies would be interested in sharing rather than struggling with a tent, e-mail me at tcraft759 at earthlink.net. I’ll be attending one way or another…. hopefully flying, but driving if the weather demons persist.

Summer, it’s so cool you’ll be heading this direction in a few short weeks! In your Student Prince no less! What a great idea to hook up along the way with other lady taildraggers heading eastbound too. Gaggles are good! I’m at the tail end of your long flight – the last 80 or so miles and will be flying over a couple days early. If you’re way early too, I’ll join you, otherwise Susan & I’ll be the two crazy ladies jumping up and down on the tarmac when you’re on short final!!

The Stearman is all ready. Now all we need is no work and good weather. Sent an email with a few questions when you get the chance to check it out. Perhaps we’ll be seeing ya there and maybe bringing a friend along.

Awesome Maria!!! Hopefully Judy got your questions answered — if you need info you can email me as well at wacornf at yahoo dot com 🙂 Sorry for the weird way of typing my email — it just cuts down on the email spam bots from sending junk mail! 😀

Getting so excited about flying the Student Prince biplane to Moraine with my great friend. 3400 nautical miles round trip is sure to be an adventure of a lifetime! Bought all the charts yesterday! Fingers crossed for blue skies and tailwinds both ways. Anyone care to gaggle along? Our route takes us thru Idaho, Montana, South Dakota, Iowa! Illinois, and Indiana. See you all soon!

I have harbored the dream of flying across the US forever and this looks like a perfect opportunity! Sky sisters having a party at the east end. Unless my work schedule interferes, I am planning on flying the Student Prince to join you. I am guessing, but I am probably correct when I say that it’s very likely that Ohio has never, ever, had a Student Prince touch down.

Come on Lisa, you and your husband should get in that Super Cub and head for Dayton in August!! I would love to see that Cub up close and your husband will have a great time. It would be an amazing flight and you two can pass the stick back and forth whenever somebody needs a break. Trust me, he’ll have lots of guys that love airplanes to hang out with. Moraine is just outside the Dayton C airspace so it’s kinda the back-country!!

I won’t be able to make it this year. We are planting fish in Wyoming that week.

This looks awesome! And I’ve never been anywhere close to Ohio. I’m going to talk to my husband and see if this is something that he would be interested in going to with me. He really likes quiet, isolated backcountry strips, so I hate to steal too many summer weekends, but this looks like a great weekend get-away.
