Feb 2014 2014 LLT Fly-in Tshirts now available
The 2014 Lady Taildragger’s Fly-in tshirt design is complete! With the input and support of Jeannie Batto and Kelly Jeffries, we will be honoring a fallen friend this year. Click on the image for large view.
This year’s fly-in tshirt honors Elaine Huf who lost her life in an aircraft accident in 2013. Elaine and her husband Tom were returning to their home strip in Kingsley, PA after attending Antique Airfield’s Blakesburg fly-in when the accident occurred. They were flying Tom’s Cessna T-50 “Bamboo Bomber” at the time. Elaine owned two taildraggers she adored, a Baby Stinson 10A and “Rudolph†her Pink 1947 Aeronca L16A. “Rudolph” is featured on our tshirts with the words “Remembering Elaine Huf” on the wings.
The graphic artist tells me he took a bit of artistic interpretation when using the pictures I sent him. Jonathon Clay wrote, “I tried to capture the fun look of your previous tee shirts, the pink airplane representing Elaine, and the clouds you mentioned as well. I thought of the graphical airplane ascending upward to represent the tragic passing you are trying to commemorate.”
Beautifully designed and well said. I hope you love it as much as I do! Fly-in tshirts are $20 each available in women’s fit and men’s and by pre-order only. You need not attend the fly-in to order a tshirt. Tshirts will be mailed to you before the fly-in. Orders must be placed by April 15, 2014.
