2015 LadiesLoveTaildraggers Scholarship Winners

It’s time to announce the recipients of this year’s LadiesLoveTaildraggers scholarships! We are awarding two:

  • “Tailwheel Endorsement” Scholarship
  • “Stick & Rudder Master Class” Scholarship

.
A total of 52 ladies applied. Our scholarship committee members have reviewed the entries, made their selections and sent in their votes. The tallying is complete. We have two very deserving winners! I only wish everyone who applied could receive a scholarship – there were so many awesome entries.

Winner of the Tailwheel Endorsement Scholarship: Stirling Moore from Douglas, Wyoming. Stirling is 21, a full time student and has flown a Cessna 172, Cessna 182, Diamond 20, Diamond 40 and a Schweizer 300c. When I phoned today to give her the good news she repeatedly thanked LLT and told me how thrilled she is. At that moment, she was driving to take her Instrument written exam and said she was suddenly feeling very lucky. I’m thinking she’s going to ace that exam!!

Both ladies will receive ground school and 6 hours tailwheel instruction from Brian Lansburgh at 6K5, Sisters Eagle Airport, Sisters, Oregon and $1000 towards airfare, food, lodging and car rental expenses. Each scholarship is valued at $1950.

Brian donated his time and aircraft so one lady pilot could earn her tailwheel endorsement. :) The funds donated by many others will pay for the Master Class and transportation expenses for both ladies.

I’d like to thank EVERYONE who donated to make these 2 amazing scholarships possible. You know who you are and all I can say is, You Rock!
