Ladies, please join me for a long weekend of flying and fun in the small town where the movie Steel Magnolias was filmed. Our 2019 LadiesLoveTaildraggers Fly-in is heading deep into the heart of Cajun country, Natchitoches, Louisiana. Natchitoches, pronounced “Nack-a-Tish” is a true southern belle, the oldest permanent settlement in Louisiana, predating even the Big Easy. Think antebellum mansions, stately oaks, brick-lined streets and crawfish and you’re on the right track.

This hotel is perfectly located in the center of the downtown National Landmark Historic District and easy walking distance to restaurants, shopping and museums.

– 7:00 p.m. Dinner historic Natchitoches, Maglieaux’s Riverfront Restaurant
Friday, October 4
– 10 a.m. Steel Magnolias & National Historic Landmarks Walking Tour with local historian.
– Noon Lunch, your choice
– OR 11:00 a.m. fly-out to the Jennings Stearman & Taildragger Fly-in, Lunch at DI’s Cajun Restaurant LA52, 82 nm
– 1:15 Melrose Plantation & St. Augustine Catholic Church & Cemetery Tour
– 4:00 p.m. KIER Taildragger ride swap!
– Silent Auction Bidding; benefits LLT Scholarship Fund (bring your donations!)
– 7:00 Attendees group photo
– 7:00 Dinner downtown at local favorite Mama’s Oyster House, Blues Room
Saturday, October 5
– 8 a.m. Fly-out breakfast to 2L0, EAA Chapter 614, Pineville Municipal Airport
– Optional morning touring or shopping
– Noon cookout lunch at airport
– 1:30 Plane Walk & Talk, a show & tell with you and your plane
– 1:30 LLT partnering with LA Tech University’s WIA Chapter & the Ninety-Nines for “WIA’s Girls In Aviation Day”; promoting aviation to girls 8 – 17.
– Silent Auction Bidding; benefits LLT Scholarship Fund (bring your donations!)
– 5:45 Attendees KIER Saturday group photo
– 6:00 Main Hangar – wine, beer &Â hors d’oeuvres
– 6:45 ‘Taste of Louisiana’ Catered DinnerÂ

– Our fly-in has been approved by the Natchitoches mayor, airport board, airport manager, and the Wings Over Natchitoches organization. They are all on-board and excited LadiesLoveTaildraggers is hosting our next flyin at Natchitoches. Offers of assistance with transportation, planning, hangar space, and more have been graciously offered and accepted.
– As of last year’s LLT Haunted Flying Tour, stiletto heels are our new trademark. Bring a pair of the sexiest, most outlandish heels, whether they fit or not, and place them by your aircraft!
– Due to popularity, we are making this a ladies only event so leave your husbands & boyfriends behind for some fun flying, exploring & celebrating with the gals.
