Jul 2018 AirVenture 2018 ‘LadiesLoveTaildraggers Event Registration’

AirVenture (OSH) is the one place on earth not to be missed by lady taildragger pilots. Other than our annual LadiesLoveTaildraggers’ gathering, it’s my favorite fly-in destination of the year. If you’re a lady taildragger pilot, or want to be a taildragger pilot, get yourself to Oshkosh, Wisconsin this July 23 – 29 any way you can!

I have THREE fabulous LadiesLoveTaildraggers’ events scheduled at AirVenture 2018 and would love for you to be there for every single one. Registration is required for our Tuesday lunch this year so please complete the registration form at the end of this post to assure your spot. No payment due at this time. Attendees will pay the Tall Pines Cafe directly at the lunch.

Event #1 Noon Lunch, Tuesday, July 24

For the second year, our LLT Lunch will be at the Tall Pines Cafe by the Ultralight Field, across from Vintage Parking. Take the tram and it’ll drop right where you need to be. Steve Nesse has kindly agreed to allow LadiesLoveTaildraggers to use their building and his wonderful volunteers will be cookin’ up a Tall Pines favorite for us; homemade, hot pot-roast sandwiches, sweet grilled corn on the cob, chips, drinks and  —- chocolate sundaes with whipped cream! What’s there not to love?! Steve tells me the lunch will be $8 or $9 which sounds like a bargain to me. Everyone is welcome, LLT member or not, tailwheel pilot or not. We’re here to encourage flying taildraggers and introduce the idea to as many people as possible. Event #2, 10:45 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Vintage In Review program, Thursday, July 26

Thursday is our LadiesLoveTaildraggers’ program with Vintage In Review‘s host Ray Johnson. Please, please do not miss our presentation at Rose Memorial Plaza in the heart of Vintage. Three lady taildragger pilots – three Vintage aircraft will be featured and the ladies interviewed. They need your support! Come and wear your LadiesLoveTaildraggers tshirt! #1 Heather Penney, director of United States Air Force Air Superiority at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company. She is best known for her role as a USAF lieutenant who was one of two pilots ordered to ram and down United Airlines Flight 93 before it reached Washington, DC, during the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Heather will display her 1950 Cessna 170A. #2 Jan Johnson will be flying her 1945 Stinson L-5 Sentinal all the way from KHWD Hayward, California. The Sentinel was a World War II era liaison aircraft used by all branches of the U.S. military. Jan will be displaying and talking about her L-5 on the Vintage ramp. #3 Lady Taildragger pilot – TBD. Registration is not required but please add your name to the list of attendees if you plan on attending.
