Announcing the “Jacquie Warda Ladies Tailwheel Endorsement Scholarship”

Aviation lost a very good friend January 26, 2022.  Airshow performer/mentor, and tenacious, supportive and aviation-loving friend, Jacquie Warda, sadly lost her battle with cancer.

Ladies, it’s time to fly” was Jacquie’s moto, and that, along with her constant encouragement, inspired countless females to fly.

We will not forget you Jacquie!

In Jacquie’s honor, Ladies Love Taildraggers is announcing a new scholarship, the “Jacquie Warda Ladies Tailwheel Endorsement Scholarship”. Jacquie loved her taildraggers and is famous for flying a Pitts S1S/T and an Extra 300.

This scholarship is open to all women pilots who would like to earn a tailwheel endorsement. Ladies Love Taildraggers will provide $2000 to one selected woman pilot.

Applicant Requirements Include

-Must be female

-Must be a minimum 17 years of age by March 1, 2022

-Must hold a minimum of Sport Pilot certificate

-Must have a current Flight Review

-Must have current medical/Basic Med as required by FAA airman’s certificate

-Must participate in telephone interview (finalists)

Contrary to previous LLT scholarships, I’m simplifying the application process for this scholarship. To apply simply send an email to LadyTaildraggers@gmail.com and tell me

  1. Name
  2. Full Address
  3. Phone
  4. Airport ID
  5. Why you’d like to earn a tailwheel endorsement
  6. Why you are in financial need of assistance
  7. Your future flying goals

That’s it. Emailed applications due April 15, 2022. If your response makes the “short list”, I’ll call you for a quick interview. The winner will receive a check for $2000 which must be used towards a tailwheel endorsement in 2022, instructor/flight school of your choice.  Unused funds must be returned to Ladies Love Taildraggers by January 15, 2023.

Jacquie came to my airport (KMQJ) 8 years ago to perform.  I was nervous to meet the famous lady pilot but decided to pushed my way through the croud. So happy I did. She was awesome!
