Posted at 18:14h, 03 Octoberooohhh, i only just now checked my messages on our wonderful taildragger site…so sorry if i didn’t get back to any of you!! i love this site and reading about all of YOU!
i flew an open air biplane this weekend, a Marquart Charger!! did 2 hammerheads & 1 aileron/barrel roll (can’t decide what it really was!!), and flew about 50 feet over the Willamette River for about an hour!!!
landing it was hilarious and thank goodness, a very forgiving aeroplane, but needless to say, forward visibility was nill!
i was freezing and my legs totally frozen on the rudder pedals but i’m ready to jump in her again, any time!!

I was just at KMMV last weekend – got married Sat & brought my family & several pilot friends to the Evergreen Aviation Museum on Sun. We traveled in a fleet that Dave loaned us from Willamette Aviation. I was eyeing that gorgeous Citabria while following it in on downwind & missing my Super Decathlon!
Wish I’d known you were around KMMV – I’d have looked you up. Next time!

My mom and dad spend time in Bend about once a year and I’ve always though about flying there to visit. Seems like it’s always a busy time of year for me though (work-wise). Oregon seems to have a very healthy GA community.
