Saturday, October 18 is LadiesLoveTaildraggers Day with special tours just for us!!
Sharon Tinkler has invited us all to Tullahoma, TN for one last LLT fly-in bash for 2014. Sharon lives in a residential flying community at the Tullahoma, TN airport, KTHA, with taxi privileges right to her house and hangar. She’d like a crowd of ladies and their guest to come to Tullahoma for “Beech Party 2014”, October 15 – 19! While spots last, plan on camping in her yard or stay at one of several nearby motels. I’ll be in the “moteling it” group for sure. 🙂
Beech Party is a multi-day bash hosted by the Beechcraft Heritage Museum and is not just for Beech aircraft aficionados. There surely will be lots of Beech aircraft but newer factory, homebuilt, vintage & antique aircraft too. From Oct 15 – 19 there will be a swarm of classic & antique flying activity and special performances by Julie Clark in her Beech T-34 Mentor. Here’s the link to details, Beech Party 2014. All LadiesLoveTaildraggers automatically get “Member” status which is a discounted rate, as do AOPA, EAA and other aviation groups. Come for the entire event if you like but be sure and come SATURDAY! My plan is to fly in Friday, hang with whoever makes it in to Sharon’s, and attend Beech Party Saturday. I totally get that it’s kinda pricy but they tell me, you’ve got to experience BEECH PARTY to realize how cool it is. I believe it!!
So the plan is, make Saturday OUR day and hang at Sharon’s before and after Saturday. Some of us will have rental cars and hop rides to local dining spots off-field for our group.
For anyone that camps with Beech Party, rather than at Sharon’s, they tell me the $20/nite charge only covers part of their cost for the shower house truck (it’s a nice truck 🙂 !). I also hear “Once you see Beech Party you will understand the quality of the event and what it’s all about!”
