Carol Anne Murray (Hawaii)

Carol Anne Murray is based at Hilo International Airport (KHTO), Hilo, Hawaii.

These were all captured by some friends who fished at Karta River Wilderness Area in southeast Alaska.

I flew a Cessna 185, exclusively on straight floats, in Alaska. Now living in Hawaii, so put “Rosalyn” on wheels and packed her into a 40 foot container. A wingless airplane parked in the driveway makes a great conversation piece.

Looking forward to reassembly very soon.  Tailwheel endorsement received in a Supercub, what fun!  I’m looking forward to the challenge the Skywagon presents.  Any suggestions for the transition are welcome.

Hope you got Rosalyn outfitted for Hawaiian flying and have visitied all the Big Island airports and beyond. I fly a Husky taidragger in the Portland, OR area. Bought a place in Volcano last fall with thought of retiring there in 3-4 years. Looked into shipping the Husky to Hilo some. Would love an update on how you are doing, if the EAA was helpful in your rebuild and what you think of flying on the Big Island.

    Aloha Liz,
I’m so happy today, as some great friends from EAA helped me move the plane to a hangar where we can begin the repairs and reassembly. It would be a great pleasure to share a ride with you sometime.
It will be some time before it is ready, and I need that extra training first, so I’m not holding my breath.
Which island are you on? I’m hoping to explore all the public airports someday!
    Carol

    Aloha Carol!
What fun to discover one other woman in Hawaii who is interested in tailwheels.
I don’t have experience but would sure like to.
Perhaps we can talk about a flight in your “Rosalyn” when she has wings again.
    Liz
