Catheline Leoni (Oregon)

Catheline Leoni is based at Portland-Hillsboro Airport, Portland, Oregon.

Hello, my name is Catheline and I am 30 years old. I come from France. Based in Oregon to pursue my career as an airline pilot, I have always tried to shape my destiny in accordance with my passions. I obtained my private pilot certificate after discovering aviation in Ireland, then returned to France to study aviation law and air transport management.

I validated my Master’s degree by implementing safety management systems in pilot training organizations of the Search and Rescue. My experience with helicopters in search and rescue led me to join the French Army Light Aviation where I became a commercial helicopter pilot.

In 2012 I, along with a group of adventurous pilots, recreated a 1936 flight by Jean Batten from England to New Zealand in a Douglas DC-3. Currently, I am working as a ground instructor at Hillsboro Aero Academy and learning to fly instruments. I have 520 hours of flying time. My wildest dream is to cross the world at the controls of my own taildragger someday! 🙂

I am so glad to be part of your community and I am looking forward to meet other Taildragger ladies as passionate as I am. Together we can achieve great things! 🙂

Currently working on my instrument rating

Aircraft flown: Stampe, Bucker Jungmann, Jodel D112, Jodel D119, Piper Cub J3, DR400, Cessna 172, Cessna 152, DC-3, EC120, AS555, APM20 Lionceau, Rallye MS880.

Dream Taildragger: DC-3

Thoughts on taildragging: They are more challenging to fly and they look so much better. I love Vintage Aircraft.
