Cessna 180 to Moose Creek in the Selway Wilderness, Idaho

Jeanne MacPherson sent in these beautiful pics and I’m amazed by the still snow covered mountains in Montana – it’s July for pete’s sake! OK, maybe she took the pictures a few days ago, but come on – it’s big time summer in the mid-west!  Jeanne is “Montana Pilot of the Year” this year and bought an incredibly beautiful Cessna 180 recently you’ll see in these pictures.

Jeanne titles all these picture “Cessna 180 to Moose Creek in the Selway Wilderness, Idaho”.

The other woman in the picture is Wilma Melville from Santa Paula CA. She is staying in McCall, Idaho for a month and flying the airstrips of Idaho. She will be at Christina Chapman's flyin next week. She flies an RV10 and a Citabria, lives in a Hangar House on the Santa Paula Airport and she is 77 years young!!!

A flying poochie! It’s great to see how many doggies are luckily enough to get to tag along on many of the lady taildragger’s flights.

Does this get you excited about the Smiley Creek Fly-in that’s less than a week away? Moose Creek, Idaho is some distance from Smiley Creek, Idaho but it’s still close enough to give you a feel of what it’s going to be like!

Jeanne’s 1955 Cessna 180 in the back country.

Jeanne, thanks for the pictures. I really believe it’s a wonderful thing for all of us to see what and where our gals are flying. Not all of us are lucky enough to fly to all the destinations we’d like to so your adventures, and others, can be the next best thing!

Nice trip Jeannie. We flew up to the Cut Bank area over the weekend. I sure wanted to check on Schafer’s. Haven’t been in there for at least 5 years, and we heard (stopping for fuel in Cut Bank) that some of our old flying buddies had headed in there for the weekend). We just had too many people we needed to stop and see on this 2 day trip for an escape to the Wilderness.

    Jeanne,
I love Moose Creek–one of my favorite spots. Shearer is also wonderful. Glad to see you and Wilma having so much fun. I’m looking forward to next week’s fly-in symposium and wish you could be there. I have a really fun and interesting group of women attending and nearly a dozen on the wait list for next year. Thanks for your support. I hope to meet you soon. Let me know next time you’re out this way… Enjoy your family reunion next week. Love your plane!
