Coronavirus, just try and catch me!!

Hey Coronavirus, I’m not dead yet. Yes you, COVID-19. You’re trying your best to shut us all down but I’m still here. What’s up with curtailing our social lives, our time with our families and friends? What, no more theater movie nights, no concerts or fun dinners out? No birthday parties, church services, NCAA, NBA or NHL? Even my beloved EAA monthly pitch in dinner had to go?!

Just stay home – work there, play there, exercise there, eat there, sleep there, just stay HOME you say. The new highlight of our lives is an occasional excursion to Walgreen’s and, for the brave, Walmart. You demand we suck it up and conform. Well Coronavirus, I’ve got news for you. I’m a pilot and I’ve made other plans!

As I shove in the throttle and roll down runway 25, tail up and stick back, just try and catch me at 500′, 1000′, 2000′! You do your best but I’m climbing fast and plan on leaving you in the dust.

If you’re in Indiana and on my frequency, you’ll likely hear me report,”Red-White-Blue Decathlon entering downwind for 25″ or maybe, “Yellow RV7 departing 16 heading southbound”.  I’m the Queen of Social Distancing! Blue skies, light winds and keep flying everyone!!

I’m happy to report I’m just one of many lady taildraggers pilots doing their part in social distancing!
