Day 1, LLT Flyin

Thursday, October 3, 2019: It’s going to take more than crappy weather to crash this LadiesLoveTaildraggers party! There are gals from around the country fighting their way to the LadiesLoveTaildraggers Natchitoches, Louisiana fly-in. Some made it in today, others are in nearby states waiting for improving wx. The weather gods may have planned a showstopper for Day 1 of our fly-in but our ladies are determined, resilient, and smart. They flew when they could, they landed and waited when it was wise, and they keep on coming.

I thought when I snapped this screen shot mid afternoon Thursday the pop-up thunderstorms had peaked. Was I wrong! They continued to build and expand bringing heavy rain and strong winds.

Tonight, a large hangar at KIER is full of airplanes, all flown in by women pilots. More are tied down on the ramp. It’s a beautiful sight!
