Sep 2017 Dineen Lewis (Delaware)
Dineen Lewis is based at KILG, New Castle Airport, Wilmington, Delaware & N57, New Garden Airport, Toughkenamon, Pennsylvania.
I started flying with my dad in his Cessna when I was about 8. He’d get her up and hand her over to me. I was too little to see over the panel so basically I was instrument flying. Unfortunately he had to sell out when I turned 15. I’ve always held this flying dream and passion in the back of my head and then last year I met a pilot from Ohio who inspired me to reawaken my dream of flying. Thru him I’ve met an incredible group of taildraggers who have encouraged me to go after my dream. So here I am. I’m currently working on financing and scholarships to achieve my goal. I will do it even if I have to scrape and save to take 1 lesson a month. Looking for a 2nd job too.
I am currently a student pilot at NGFC out of N57 flying a 1946 Cessna 140.
Aircraft flown: Cessna 140
Dream Taildragger: Cessna 140 or Piper
About taildragging: It’s what I grew up with. Plus all my aviation friends have taildraggers and I’m afraid they wouldn’t speak to me anymore if I didn’t get my certification in them. LOL
