I have travelled quite extensively both within Australia and overseas but in the last year and a half have discovered another dimension to my travel experiences.  I have the absolute good fortune to have been introduced to seeing the world from the Super Cub which I absolutely love.

Phil Jones’ Super Cub

I have spent many hours in the back seat of my partner, Phil Jones’, Cub but am now wanting to have even more fun and fly it myself –   I am having lessons at Aldinga air strip in a Sport Cub and loving the challenge.  I unfortunately have to travel by commercial airline to get to Adelaide and then drive one hour South to the strip so my lessons are few and far between which is frustrating at times.  Nonetheless I am determined to get my endorsement and join the rest of the lucky ladies in the sky.

Phil and I have travelled extensively around the amazing outback of Australia seeing things very few people have seen.  It is a remote and wonderful place and we are very lucky to have a birds eye view of it.  We have a camping pod under the Cub so we can set up camp wherever we like and do exactly that.

Very remote flood area

Nothing compares to camping under the night skies and the absolute solitude and then following the sand dunes and camel tracks across salt lakes and into the desert.

We have recently had some extreme weather which has turned the desert green and caused floods inland which is a very rare occurrence and to see one of the wonders of mother nature from the beautiful little Cub is nothing short of amazing.  I am totally in love with the Cub, and Phil of course.
