Jan 2020 EAA Women Soar Society & LadiesLoveTaildraggers Partner on Scholarships!
I have explosive news for all lady pilots!!
The EAA Aviation Foundation’s Women Soar Society is partnering with LadiesLoveTaildraggers to award MORE scholarships to women pilots. It’s enough to make you dance!
I hope you’re feeling the love because that’s exactly
what the EAA Women Soar Society is sending us.
LadiesLoveTaildraggers started down this amazing path to scholarships just 6 years ago. We awarded our very first scholarship, a Tailwheel Endorsement, to one woman pilot. The generosity of our donors blew me away and the appreciation of our first scholarship winner made me jump for joy!
Even then, one thing was very clear. Many women had discovered aviation only to be held back by finances and lack of opportunity. They loved flying but were struggling to find their way in aviation, oftentimes later in life. MANY wanted Tailwheel Endorsements or Advanced Tailwheel Training but were struggling to reach the next step. Because of LadiesLoveTaildraggers, we had a platform and were able to advocate for women pilots striving to advance their flying skills and create careers in aviation. The results have been positive beyond belief.
When I was approached by the Women Soar Society about partnering to jointly award flying scholarships, I was ecstatic – they give me money, I give it to you, we’re good. Right? Well hold on there a moment.
The EAA Women Soar Society has awarded LadiesLoveTaildraggers $5,000 in a matching grant scholarship program. It’s fantastic – phenomenal – incredibly generous, AND requires participation on our end.
$5,000 is a lot to raise. I hope, with your help, we can encourage corporate aviation, organizations and individuals to make donations. If you have a contact that supports women in aviation, we’d love to talk with them. Please contact me so we can take the next step!
The EAA Aviation Foundation’s Women Soar Society is part of our much loved Experimental Aircraft Association. I am also asking all EAA members to help me reach our goal. Small donations from individual EAA chapters can add up in a big way. ALL DONATIONS count, so don’t sell your EAA chapter short. You can raise funds by making a quick announcement at your monthly EAA meeting, and then by passing the hat. You have the power to raise awareness about both LadiesLoveTaildraggers & the EAA’s Women Soar Society while giving a hand up to other women pilots.
Individuals, corporations and organizations – clicking this little button can literally change the future for women pilots!
Thank you for your support, Jan Johnson, 1945 Stinson L-5 pilot and owner.
