Apr 2012 Elizabeth Reese signed off for private pilot check ride
Cool news from student pilot Elizabeth Reese! Elizabeth started her instruction in a Luscombe and is finishing up in the family’s Piper J4 Cub Coupe – it doesn’t get much better for learning than the birds she’s flying. Here’s where it gets really interesting though – she’s based at Grand Junction, Colorado and just finished her night cross-country flight in the Rocky Mountains! Congratulations Elizabeth, we’re proud of you. Best of luck on your upcoming check ride!Â
From Elizabeth….
“I just finished up my flight training this weekend with a night cross-country from KGJT to KCNY and back. My checkride is scheduled for the 16th, and I’m really nervous! Keep your fingers crossed for me! I’ll give you another update after it’s done.”
“I decided to pretty much fly the interstate and highway since I felt most comfortable with that. My instructor left it up to me based on my comfort level. The timing worked out great…we had originally planned the trip for the previous weekend, but weather changed our plans. But it was for the best in the end because Saturday night was as smooth as silk, and we had a full moon too! I just wish I had taken my camera with me to snap a shot of the moon as it was rising. So beautiful! Any pre-checkride advice you want to send my way would be greatly appreciated too! Thanks for the support!”

Posted at 20:57h, 10 AprilWoo Hoo! Way to go Elizabeth! We have some things in common. My initial training was in a Luscombe as well. I finished up in a Cessna 172, but I love love the Luscombe. Good luck with your check-ride. I know you’ll do well with the great foundation and support you have.
