May 2015 Hashtag #LLTFlyin
Announcing the Social Media Hashtag for the LadiesLoveTaildraggers Texas Flyin!
We’re going to be using hashtag #LLTFlyin at Sulphur Springs and encourage you to Tweet the same.
How to use hashtags Lesson:
Simply put, a #hashtag is a method of organization for social media. The “pound sign” in front of a short string of characters is what makes it a hashtag. It started on Twitter and spread to other places like Facebook and Pinterest. The idea is that you might want your message to be associated with messages other people are writing about the same topic, or watching the same TV show, or from the same event.
Say I’m watching the season finale of my favorite TV show, Game of Thrones, and of course they once again kill off another beloved character. I’ll get on Twitter and share my disgust adding the hashtag #GoT (a shorter way of saying #GameOfThrones) to my tweet.
“NNNNNoooooooooooo!!!!! #GoT” – Tweeted on Twitter
Because of the tag, my message automatically gets grouped with other messages where people are talking about the show at the same time. This allows everyone in the #GoT community to hop on Twitter and see the world’s reaction. We can all share in our pains together smile emoticon
For the fly-in, we are doing something similar. But rather than a group of people watching the same thing, we’ll all be at the same place: The 2015#LLTFlyin (or the shorter version of LadiesLoveTaildraggers Fly-in). While everyone is enjoying themselves and taking photos at the airport or on the poker run or having dinner together, some of us will share the experience on social media. When you use the #LLTFlyin hashtag in your posts or tweets, we can automatically display them to our website so anyone who can’t attend can still share in the experience.
The cool thing is, you can start using the hashtag today to talk about how excited you are for the #LLTFlyin and all your preparations.
“Cleaning the bugs off the wing so she looks pretty for the #LLTFlyin”
“Packed and ready to go to the flyin. I’ve been looking forward to this for weeks!!! #LLTFlyin”
“Just landed at Sulphur Springs and there are lady pilots as far as the eye can see. Glorious! #LLTFlyin”
The week of the flyin we’ll start posting all these message to the website for everyone to see.
