Help! One Question Poll

RESOLVED. Applications for LadiesLoveTaildraggers scholarships will be open to ladies age 21 and older. Each application will be judged on its own merits and age will not be a factor. Thank you for the Facebook messages and email comments that played a part in this decision.

Hey everybody. I’m starting to work on the next, the BEST, application forms for the LadiesLoveTaildraggers Scholarships and I need some input from you. Your voice counts. Your voice really counts if you contributed your hard earned cash by making a donation to the LLT Scholarship Fund. I will be funneling your money to our scholarship winners and I want to be darned sure scholarships are awarded to candidates that will be at the top of your list.

So this is what I’m struggling with and I’d like to know what you think. It’s a tough call and I need to resolve it before I invite ladies to apply for the scholarships.

I’ve reviewed scholarships provided by Women In Aviation, the Ninety-Nines and the EAA and can’t help but notice there are endless scholarships available to youth. Female and male youth. Good. Great! What I don’t see are many scholarships available to our LLT demographics – ladies over the age of 30. That is not to say all our members are over age 30. Happily many of our members are younger and are the future of ladies who love to fly taildraggers! But the fact is, many of our members don’t fit the normal scholarship criteria of “youth” and could use a hand up. Not everyone has the cash laying around to get a tailwheel endorsement or take a master tailwheel class.

I’m guessing I’ll get beat up over this but give me a break and cast your vote. Personally, I’d like the 2016 LLT scholarships to have a minimum age of 30 to apply. Is that crazy? Am I way off track? I need to know ’cause I may be wrong. It’s your money. Please vote!
