Jeanne MacPherson’s flight to Schafer, Montana

Jeanne MacPherson sent these pictures from her trip last weekend to Schafer US Forest Service Airport (8U2), Schafer, Montana. Looks like a beautiful spot.

And just in case you’re like me and want to see what the terrain and runway are really like out there, check out this video.  If you like Bonanzas and nosewheel aircraft you’re going to be really happy. If you’re looking for taildraggers, maybe not so much. Looks like they’re having fun. Nice videos and pictures of the approach to Schafer, the airport and more.

Yes, Gail, the only one with it’s own bathroom. It sounds like you know Hank?

Very nice, looks like a good fly in. Nice to see Hank’s plane there. The only one with it’s own bathroom, I presume?

    Jeanne,
What fun. And a gorgeous spot too. 2012 needs to happen. Remember WWAA I and II at Smiley Creek is July 16-19 for I and 19-22 for level II so make it before/after that so I (you too) can come!! LOVE the deers and the dog’s big stick. Ha. The TravelAir is stunning. You’re a lucky girl!
