I’m Jenn, a long time aviation enthusiast. I knew I wanted to be a pilot when I got a ride in an Ercoupe when I was about 8 years old. Soon after, I started taking the occasional lesson in a Piper Arrow III in Illinois which was more fun than words can describe. I started flying taildraggers not far from them after a ride in a Ryan PT-22, and around that same I flew gliders on weekends. Outside of aviation, I’m a writer, guitarist, and cat lover. I also design and develop add-on aircraft for flight simulators including X-Plane.

Ratings: ASEL, high performance, complex

Just listing the taildraggers I’ve flown: Vans RV-4, RV-7, RV-8, Piper J3 and J3F cubs, Super Decathlons, Pitts S2C, S2B, Citabrias, Champs, Tailwind, T6 Texans, Stearmans, Waco VPF (Victor Paul Frank) 7, Waco UIC, P-51C Mustang, Cessna 140, Ryan PT-22.

Dream Taildragger: Corsair or Twin Beech!

Thoughts on taildragging: First of all, they LOOK right. Second, they take us back to a simpler time for aviation–simple, drafty cockpits and the rumble of an old radial engine–the nostalgia is incredible.
