Jill Baker (California)

Jill Anne Baker, CFI, MEI, lives in San Diego, California and sent in this new picture update.  Jill says “My good friend Buckels  and I flying his Cub!!”

Although Jill is based at San Diego, she makes frequent trips to Indiana.  When I met Jill a year ago she was flying this GCAA 1970 Citabria out of Columbus Municipal Airport in Indiana.  Sadly, on a rental flight, it was forced to make an off-airport landing and although the 2 persons on board were fine, the Citabria did not fare so well.

Jill works for the airlines, instructs and is a member of the San Diego Ninety-Niners.

    Hi Jill!!

How cool about your grandfather!! Would love to hear more about that! Let me know when you’re headed back to Indiana… maybe we can coax Judy and all meet somewhere for breakfast or lunch!! I’ll keep your number handy if I get out that way some time soon!!!

    Hi Susan,
Call me anytime you are in San Diego. We do have the best weather for flying I must admit. My grandfather flew a Waco way back in 1939 out of Massachusettes.
Haven’t flown the Citabria in a number of months but will be back in Indiana at the end of the month and plan on flying.
    Thanks for the note.

    Hi Jill!!

I have a lot of family in San Diego and occasionally get out there to visit! Three of my cousins own Greek restaurants there… I so miss the ocean being land locked here in Ohio! Hope to see you flying the Citabria around some time soon! Be sure to stop in to I73 if you get the chance…

    Hello Jill,
I just saw your profile and I lived in San Diego for a long time. I used to keep my C140 at Montgomery Field, then Palomar and last home base was Oceanside Airport. We may know some of the same flyers in that area!
