Sep 2018 Kaitlyn Gallegos (California)
Kaitlyn Gallegos is based at KCRQ, McClellan-Palomar Airport, Carlsbad, California.
I am a huge AvGeek! I have been flying since I was 14 years old and can’t get enough of it! I took Private Pilot Ground School at Palomar College and passed with the highest grade in the class. I then was a recipient of the AOPA AV8RS Scholarship and the San Diego Antique Aircraft Association Scholarship. Additionally, I am the current Operational Vice President of San Diego Aviation Explorer Post 120! I also am a member of WAI, AMA, IAC, and AOPA.
My goal in aviation is to become a Bush Pilot and start my own bush flying business. After I get my PPL, I want to start on my tailwheel endorsement in order to work towards my Bush piloting goals ASAP.
This year (2018) was my first year attending OshKosh! I absolutely loved it and can’t wait to return in future years! Other than flying, I am a Senior in High school, I dirtbike, I offroad, I’m an avid camper, I mountain bike, and so much more! I love living life through different adventures.
Ratings: Student Pilot
Aircraft flown: Carbon Cub &Â Cessna 172
Dream taildragger: J-3 Cub or a Carbon Cub
Thoughts on taildragging: I love taildraggers because It’s more of a challenge and they’re perfect for bush flying! My goal is to become a bush pilot, and in order to do so, I must get my taildragger endorsement!
