Nov 2016 Kim Huntington’s New Bird!
Congratulations are in order!  Kim Huntington from KSMX, Capt G Allan Hancock Field, Santa Maria, California, happily sent me her big news. Very cool, Kim, and a great choice for the back-country, off-road flying you’re doing.Â
My husband has owned a 2007 Sport Cub for 18 months now. ‘Sierra’ actually played well with my Champ, but we were waiting for the right parent to come for our 150TD, as we didn’t need 3 planes. Finally in October ‘NotSo’ found a new home in Oakland, CA.
Having ferried a Carbon Cub home from Atlanta for the local CubCrafters dealer, I was pretty much sold on these aircraft and started looking for my own Sport Cub as soon as the Purchase Agreement on ‘NotSo’ was signed. We found a 2009 in Oregon, but that deal would eventually fall through. In the meantime 2 days after the 150 left a gentleman came to look at my Champ on a Monday. By Thursday he was gone! OMG I’m without a plane!
It took 5 weeks to find a Sport Cub that was based in St. Louis. I took delivery of ‘Priscilla’ on my 60th birthday. My husband was in Atlanta picking up another Sport Cub for the dealer, so we met in Georgetown, TX and flew home together.
‘Priss’ has been in our family a week now and although I miss my Champ, she will be a much more capable off road plane for me. I’m so excited to have a starter and a heater!!
