Landings in a Jodel D18

Landing in La Toviere, France. Videos by Fabrizio Maffioletti flying his Jodel D18. Not only does this video put you in the pilot seat flying through these beautiful mountains, there’s a landing on grass and horses everywhere on the roll out.

Landing through horses 😀

The Jodel is a lovely airplane to fly. A big, high-lift wing, slick enough to be fast but with a low stall speed. The bend in the wing means there is plenty of ‘wing-down’ for crosswinds without needing to worry about, er, scrape-age. And I’ll tell you a secret–it’s like cheating! Those mains are so wide and it lands so slowly, it’s a piece of cake. Gorgeous scenery.
