Jun 2012 Let’s meet at Oshkosh!
Who’s coming to OSH?! I hope to be there all week and would love to meet all you lady taildragger pilots. Mark your calendar for one or both days we’ll be meeting for lunch, 11:30 Tuesday, July 24 and 11:30 Friday, July 27. Keeping true to tradition, we’ll be at the Hilton Garden Inn’s rooftop restaurant which is on the northwest corner of the airport, North 40 area. The bus will take you right to it. Wear your Ladies Love Taildraggers t-shirt if you have one! That will help identify us but we’ll no doubt find each other either way.
I’m actually starting to freak out a little about getting my usual room. I always get a dorm room at U of W and found out a couple days ago I’m number 374 on the waiting list! Keep your fingers crossed I get in!!
Friday’s a big day for women pilots at Oshkosh and several events can keep you very busy from 8:00 a.m. till early afternoon! Start off with the Friday WAI breakfast, 8:00 AM at the EAA Nature Center Pavilion. Advance tickets available at http://www.wai.org/events/connect.cfm . Then head over to the Square where everyone dons their Womenventure shirts and gets in the group picture. I hope every one of the LLT participates as well. Then head over to the Hilton Garden Inn’s rooftop restaurant at 11:30 for our Lady Taildraggers lunch!
For anyone that would like to meet anytime else during the week, please call me! My cell is 317-506-2737 – I’d love to spend some time with whoever’s available; daytime, airshow, dinner, just let me know!
On a different note, here’s a suggestion from Sandy Maurer for those staying thru Saturday. “I HIGHLY recommend attending the seminar TSTM Avoidance Using Datalink Nexrad Radar on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the FAA Safety Seminar Bldg. I have attended other Dr. Strahle seminars on wx and radar and he is one of the best in the field.”

Dan and I will be arriving at OSH on Sunday in our A150M taildragger, and depart for the 150/152 club flyin In Iowa on Wednesday morning. Did I mention I’m excited? VERY excited! Posted at 17:17h, 05 JulySoooooooo excited to be able to join in the LLT lunch on Tuesday this year. Thanks for planning two lunches! See you soon, Judy.
p.s. I’m flying to OSH in S-T-Y-L-E this year. My friend offered the right seat of his 1954 Cessna 195 – the very last one that rolled off the Wichita production line! I am beyond excited. One of the classiest and roomiest classic taildraggers. Should be arriving on Sunday 7/22.

Posted at 12:58h, 29 JuneThanks Janet. Luckily I got a message a couple days ago from Gruenhagen saying they had a room for me. I was amazed since I started at #374, so thankful to get in. Call my cell anytime you want to get together up there. Or anybody else that wants to get together too! 317-506-2737.

Posted at 10:11h, 29 JuneJudy, We are staying in Hartford, WI for the week and will be there a couple of days early. We’ve rented a car, and if you were able to get a room (if you’re in a pinch) then we are driving in early each morning to Oshkosh…less than 30 minutes away. Hartford is where all the Piper Cubs are meeting before Airventure, for the 75th Anniversary fly-in to Oshkosh!!

Posted at 11:35h, 20 JuneI just called Gruenhagen Hall at U of W and they’ve moved me up on the waiting list for a dorm room. I’m up to #175 which sounds bad unless you consider I was #374 last week. I HOPE I get a room!
