Lindsay’s Flying Tattoos!

Tattoo: Art for the skin. Permanent makeup. Skin art. No matter what you call them, they’re the ultimate personal expression of individuality. For lady taildragger pilot, Lindsay Petre, they’re a way to add some ink that proclaims her passion – flying!  Whether you think they’re cool or creepy, you can’t help but be in awe of Linday’s “yellow J3 on floats” or her “1st solo C152” tats. Thanks for sharing Lindsay! Lindsay Petre FB2   Lindsay Petre FB 1st solo tattoo In 2009 my husband and I went to the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome for our anniversary and took a ride in their biplane. Later he said, you enjoyed that so much, maybe you’d like flying lessons? I didn’t have any aviators in the family so I hadn’t considered it before, but I said why not. The rest, of course, is history. Lindsay Petre seaplane tattoo

Lindsay Petre FB3 After I get with the aerobatics I’ll probably get that one too. Although I love my 152 I have had an enormous amount of fun in the J-3. I also have about 20 hours in a R44 – honestly I love anything that gets off the ground. I’ve met such awesome people through flying. Flying is a huge passion for me and I’m always excited to communicate with other pilots, especially of the female persuasion.

Cheers,
