Lisa’s Memorial Weekend Flight

Thanks to Lisa Martin for sending this little snipet of what Wyoming flying is all about this time of year. Great shots, Lisa!

We had some nasty winter storm warnings here in Wyoming for the Memorial Day weekend so I chickened out of flying to Oklahoma, but did get to sneak in 4.5 hours Saturday morning before the storm clouds grounded us.

Flew up towards the Rocky Mountains to see if the winter elk herd was calving yet (found one). Then stopped in for coffee at a ranch strip that the owner has lovingly named “Nowood International”.

After that, it’s been steady rain and even some snow all weekend. Looking forward to some nicer weather next week!

What a wonderful, adventurous flight. And to see the elk calves! That is joy itself. Awesome.
