LLT Tailwheel Endorsement Scholarship Winners

Scholarship tailwheel-cropped-BThe LadiesLoveTaildraggers Tailwheel Endorsement Scholarship committee is excited to announce our winners! A panel of five LLT members including Katie Mullins, Val Thal-Slocum, Kelly Jeffries, Donna Guerin and Lynn Gardner were the team with the very difficult task of reviewing each of the applications and determining the winners. We received 40 entries, each with a unique story, all deserving of assistance. Kelly Jeffries stated it well when she wrote, “When I agreed to this task, I had no idea it would be so difficult.  It was inspiring to read about these truly diverse group of women and I am honored to be a part of this process. If I could, I would give scholarships to most of this group. The caliber of women was simply amazing.”  Our goal initially was to award a tailwheel endorsement scholarship to one female private pilot. The great news is, many people generously donated to the fund allowing us to award TWO full scholarships. Two very deserving ladies have now been selected!!

Both ladies will receive 6 hours of tailwheel instruction from Brian Lansburgh at Tailwheel Town, Bend, Oregon and $1000 for airfare, food, lodging and car rental expenses. Each scholarship is valued at $1850.
Brian wowed us when he donated his time and aircraft so one lady pilot could earn her tailwheel endorsement. 🙂 The funds donated by many others will pay for the 2nd tailwheel endorsement and transportation expenses. I’d particularly like to thank Oregon Aero, SWT Aviation/Kathy Davis, Darren Lucke and EVERYONE who donated to make this possible. You rock!
