Louise O’Grady Flight Across Australia

Whoopee, I got an email from another Taildragger Gal from Down Under! It was from Louise O’Grady who is on an absolutely incredible flying adventure across Australia. For the rest of us, it doesn’t  matter where we live or what taildragger we fly, we can all appreciate and dream about doing exactly what Louise is doing right now. Enjoy Louise’s pictures and check out the link to her blog! Hopefully we’ll hear more from Louise soon.

A very proud Supercub owner!

“Hi, I am currently flying my Super Cub on a big trip across Australia. I left Melbourne 14 days ago and arrived in Perth last Friday. I am now on my way back to Melbourne, and dropping into Port Lincoln on Thursday to meet the Super Cubs there. I have only just found out about LadiesLoveTaildraggers, it is fantastic. Philip Jones told me about you!”

Castlemaine Airfield, Guilford… Landed just before the rain came.

Planned Route: Lou’s big flight across AUS
Port Pirie
Final destination – Mundajong

Leaving Kalgoorlie – Gold mine a huge hole in the ground!

Amazing Pink Lakes, Cauiguna to Esperance

My arrival in Ceduna – great weather!

“Check out my blog,

I have named my Super Cub ‘Amy’ after the lady that inspired me to become a pilot, Amy Johnson.”

It started on Day One – Friday Night in the Guildford Hotel, I made a new friend!

Putting any significant weight on the lift struts is a big no-no. I normally dont take part in these comments but don’t want to see a plane damaged or a person hurt.
