Lupita A. Wisener is based at 3F9, Mineola Airport-Wisener Field, Mineola, Texas.
I began managing Mineola-Wisener Airport 2 years ago and began learning about aviation and the rich history of the airport which was established on July 4, 1917 by the U.S. Army Signal Corp. I have been offered rides in all types of aircraft and the taildraggers just tug at my heart. I am a student pilot and am learning to fly a Stinson Wagon and my dream is to learn to fly the Wisener 1942 Stearman.
We support and encourage general aviation by attending all of the area fly-ins, air shows and all aviation related events. I love the fact that WWI ace Bill Irwin used this airport as well as barnstormers such as Wiley Post and Roy Wilson who was in the movie “Hell’s Angels”. Henry Wisener, Jr. who was also a barnstormer performed aerobatics for the opening of “Hell’s Angels” in Dallas, Texas.
I just love taildraggers and support this great organization.
