I first flew Cubs as an employee of Piper, then DC-3s in charter and skydiving operations. Years later I bought a Stinson 108-3 Flying Station Wagon which I still have and love. I’ve flown it up and down the east coast, from NJ out to Denver and to Memphis.

I’m now hanging out in central FL finding all kinds of grass strips and open fields to land in. Now that I’ve retired from the airlines, I keep current as a CFI giving tailwheel checkouts.

    Hi Lynn,

If you get up to our neck of the woods in PA, definitely bring your taildragger into this grass strip. We would love to see you!

Hi Lynn! I’m looking for someone to give my son-in-law a tailwheel endorsement. He’s also a CFII and did all his training at Embry Riddle We’re going to be letting him fly our Aviat Husky up here in PA but need him to first get his endorsement. His previous experience at Embry was in a Cub (I think) but since he now plans to fly the Husky solo he’ll need the endorsement. How long does it typically take for soemone to complete the requirements of the endorsement and what is the typical cost? I know you’d have to first see what his skillset is, so I’m just looking for an estimate. And what type of tailwheel do you have for him to get his endorsement in? Thanks Lynn!

    Lynn,

Having you and Kathy visit for lunch was great. Keep me posted on your interest in making the trip to Idaho.

What are the “open fields” you land in? Land owners you know, state lands? We land on roads in the BLM lands here, the sage brush and rocky ground is too rough.
