May 2010 Happy 1 year Anniversary to LadiesLoveTaildraggers.com
Happy One Year Anniversary www.LadiesLoveTaildraggers.com!!
May 16
When I was daydreaming a year & a half ago about a website for and about women tailwheel pilots, there was one person who encouraged that thought and was right there brainstorming alongside me. Â Lucky for me, he not only liked the idea but he had the website expertise and enthusiasm to make it happen. Â Also really lucky for me is the fact that he’s my very own son! Â And here’s the really, really, lucky part – after spending 4 years getting a BS in Informatics (computer/human interaction design) and a Masters in the same, he offered his services at the very affordable price of FREE!!
Thank you, Craig, for all your efforts in the design and set up of LadiesLoveTaildraggers.  I’ve got a year under my belt now keeping the site updated and moving forward and it’s been great having you as my personal consultant and advisor!  Together, we’ve allowed the website to morph in directions it needed to go, made necessary changes and added features.  You’ve been a lifesaver when I’ve screwed things up so bad creating new posts that only a programmer could go in and undo the mess.  I haven’t learned to love HTML yet but I’m closer now thanks to you. Craig, I appreciate EVERYTHING you’ve  done behind the scenes to make this site the best it can be. Love you,
Mom
P.S. Â See, didn’t I tell you that “Ladies Love Taildraggers” would turn out to be a great name! Â (Moms always get the last word)!

What lovely sentiments — and you are so right — there is a kinship here, kindred spirits…sharing the same passion. I commend you both for bringing this alive. Judy and I have talked many times about the fact that we are each at an airport where we are the only women taildragger pilots…and it gets rather lonely — but for me — this site has brought many new friends to my life and when something fun happens — I often times can’t wait to get home and yap about it here with all of you!
Some of my fellow pilots at the airport flew down to sporty’s yesterday — and came home wagging a lovely personalized copy of Lane Wallace’s new book “Unforgettable” — I got up this morning and read it cover to cover while sipping my coffee. I highly recommend reading this book — in many ways — what she captured in that book is what also do here — and share with everyone else! Great stuff!!
Til the spars crack!

Posted at 16:17h, 16 MayI can take credit for very little when it comes to this site. I am simply the mechanic that keeps it running. I make suggestions when appropriate. I explain when there are questions. I fix what is broken.
The site works because of me, but the site exists because of you.
All of you.
The stories of your adventures propel the success of LLT. Continued success can only come from the help of the community. I want to commend the efforts of every lady who has joined the group and I challenge you all to simply continuing your passions for flying, but make sure to document your experiences along the way.
While this site is a community effort, there is a very large amount of credit that needs to be given to my mother, Judy. For the countless hours of documentation and the patience to work through what seem like endless problems, I say to you, congratulations on your first year.
I look forward to reading the continued stories of this community’s passions.
