Hi Sharon, we had an airport cookout tonight at MQJ and friends who were just getting back from Blakesburg made it back in the nick of time. Mark & Diane Gilmore flew their Gilmore Marquart Charger out which was grand champion plans-built aircraft at AirVenture 2009. They were some of the “Gone Home” group. Hope you got to meet them and see their beautiful homebuilt, 19 years in the making I believe! Glad you had a good time – send me some pictures and stories from Blakesburg when you finally get back home!!

The last day of Blakesburg is winding down. The “Gone Home” awards ceremony is tonight. (Most of the award winners are announced followed by the unison audience response “gone home”, because they have left to beat the weather)
We were here since Tuesday. It was as exciting and wonderful as it ever is. I think we are happier here than any place on earth. Sparky was here and we introduced her to Carolyn Applegate, a cub pilot who has fallen in love with her new Vagabond as well. They should have a thing or two to talk about 🙂
