Sep 2010 Neroli Henwood (New Zealand)
Neroli Henwood lives in Hamilton, New Zealand, flies a Super Cub and is based at HLZ.
I live in New Zealand and learnt to fly in the early 1980’s. About 3 1/2 years ago I was browsing on Trade Me (our equivalent of e-bay) and saw a beautiful little Super Cub for sale. I had never flown taildraggers and had a break from flying for 17 years while our daughters were growing up. To cut a long story short, we fell in love with the Cub and purchased her.
I am very fortunate that my husband is an experienced tailwheel pilot and instructor (very patient too!) and I am now approaching 200 hrs in our Cub.
I think the website is just great. Even though it isn’t possible to join in the flying with you ladies, it is lovely to see so many women enjoying their flying.
Cheers,
Neroli Henwood
Posted at 01:35h, 21 SeptemberThanks Anne and Susan,
What a lovely website this is, full of amazing women enjoying their flying.
Anne, It was lovely to see a familiar face as I was browsing through. I was so impressed to read that your husband bought your lovely cub for you as a present! It is great to be able to keep in touch this way.
Susan, Thank you for your welcome. I am sorry to say I don’t know your friend and I think you should defintely plan a visit ‘down under’
We don’t have any Waco aircraft flying in NZ at present but I meet a guy, not far from here, last weekend and he has imported 2 aircraft and plans to get them flying here, which would be exciting.
Cheers

Posted at 23:11h, 20 SeptemberNeroli! Welcome!!! Your plane is just beautiful and I know you’re having a great time! I have a dear friend that lives in Hamilton (she used to own a flower shop there I think she just sold it!) Cherry Gaddes — she got a ride in my Waco when she and her husband came for a visit a couple years ago! One of these days I’ll get down there for a visit! Again, Welcome! Let us know if you ever make it to the “colonies” over here!
Cheers!
