Lucky for us, Ray Johnson once again invited LadiesLoveTaildraggers to participate in his Thursday “Vintage In Review” program. Jan Johnson (C195) and Sierra Lund (C140) were the featured pilots and were spectacular!

Student pilot Sierra Lund talked about how she lost her engine in a C150 at 400′ on a solo cross-country (Peachtree Georgia). She is pictured with the C140 her parents gave her for her high school graduation.

Pretty Bird ‘Elsie’ has her very own Facebook page. She reports, “I know my Mom loves me, because she brought me to The Happiest Place on Earth….for airplanes. And everyone liked me – they really liked me!” Photo courtesy Veronique Beringer.
It was a delight to meet future taildragger pilot Kelly Newman Langmead strolling through Vintage today.
And from Jenny Givens, mother of this sweetie. “Alaskan Airlines flew a plane in with an all-women crew. As I was taking a picture with Maddy, one of the crew women came up and let Maddy wear her hat. She was so thrilled Maddy was so young and into airplanes! And Maddy was equally as thrilled to be in a crew woman’s hat!”
A smiling Kate Kyer, a Pitts S2-B airshow pilot and captain for UPS was having a great time today.

You guessed it. That’s Harrison Ford getting ready to give the 2 Millionth Young Eagle Flight in his  de Havilland Beaver to 16 year old Jodi Gawthrop. In addition, she & her parents received free admission to AirVenture, lodging, a Lightspeed headset and a $7500 flight training scholarship. WOW!!
Lookin’ good Harry!
All I can say is, I was in the right place (Oshkosh) at the right time (AirVenture)!!!
