Jun 2016 The Plan for Ladies Who Love Taildraggers at OSH!
It’s time we start to nail down some meetups for LadiesLoveTaildraggers at AirVenture 2016. I’ll be at OSH all week and would love to get as many of us together in one place as possible …. as many times as possible!
#1 Lunch meet-ups for LadiesLoveTaildraggers (a.k.a. members, wanna be members, guests, or anybody who shows up) will be at 11:30 Tuesday, July 26 and Saturday, July 30 at the Hilton Garden Inn Rooftop Terrace Cafe. This spot is the best kept secret at AirVenture!
It’s the one place we can meet, push a bunch of tables together, introduce ourselves and have a great time. It does require some advance planning on your part though. The Hilton Garden Inn is on the field (north of 9/27) and, depending on where you are at OSH, can take some time to get there. Plan accordingly – it may take you an hour to get there. Walk or take a trolley past Warbirds and make your way to the North 40 buses. Climb aboard one of the yellow school buses that skirt from there to the OSH Terminal Building and ask them to STOP at the Hilton Garden Inn. Here’s what you’ll be looking for!
We will be waiting for you in the upstairs, outside Terrace Cafe!
#2 Don’t miss Thursday’s ‘Vintage in Review’ program with Ray Johnson! It’s ‘Ladies Who Love Taildraggers’ Day and Ray will be interviewing 3 lady taildragger pilots who fly their Vintage or Antique aircraft to AirVenture.Â
It’s always fun to see which ladies and what airplanes are featured. Please come and support LadiesLoveTaildraggers on Thursday at 11:00 and wear your LLT tshirts!! Don’t have one? They will be available for sale!
#3 There’s also a very special private hangar party on Wednesday evening that includes the afternoon and night airshow. Special admittance required. Great dinner and drinks! Contact me if you’d like to be part of this small group!! My friend Dan from Indiana keeps a hangar at OSH all year just so he can throw a great party during AirVenture. I can only get a few ladies in so let me know ASAP if you’d like to join the fun! Dan is awesome!!
