Sep 2012 Public Service Announcement for flyers
This is a Public Service Announcement from Ladies Love Taildragger.
Are you going to a fly-in pitch-in and need something to take that’s homemade, fantastic, easy & really delicious? Boy oh boy, have I got the perfect recipe for you! I’ve baked and taken this to way too many fly-ins to count and it always gets rave reviews. Try it once and you’ll be hooked!

Nieman Marcus Cake
(but it’s actually really gooey, yummy bars)
1 box yellow or chocolate Duncan Hines Cake Mix
1 stick softened butter
1 cup chopped pecans
3 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 8 oz. pkg cream cheese
1 16 oz. pkg. powdered sugar
Combine cake mix, 1 egg, softened butter & pecans. Get your fingers in and work into the bottom of greased 8 x 11 pan. Combine 2 eggs, vanilla, cream cheese & powdered sugar. Â Mix well & pour on top of cake batter. Bake at 350 for 40 minutes.
Enjoy!

No, you’re not seeing double. I’m doing two recipes at once this time. Don’t expect a runny cake mix when you “pour” your batter in. It’s more like a cookie batter consistency so you’ll need to push it into the bottom of the pan and level it out before the next step.

This topping turns into a soft and gooey layer on top if you don’t over cook it. Soften the cream cheese, add the two eggs and mix, then the vanilla & powdered sugar.

Bake at 350 for 40 minutes – no more – no less, and you’ll have a nice golden brown top to slice in to.
I’m flying to two fly-ins, one for lunch and another at dinner time so I doubled up. Only problem I have is trying not to dive into it before I get there!
