Nieman Marcus Cake

(but it’s actually really gooey, yummy bars)

1 box yellow or chocolate Duncan Hines Cake Mix

1 stick softened butter

1 cup chopped pecans

3 eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla

1 8 oz. pkg cream cheese

1 16 oz. pkg. powdered sugar

Combine cake mix, 1 egg, softened butter & pecans. Get your fingers in and work into the bottom of greased 8 x 11 pan. Combine 2 eggs, vanilla, cream cheese & powdered sugar.  Mix well & pour on top of cake batter. Bake at 350 for 40 minutes.

Enjoy!

Soften the butter, toss in an egg and mix, add the cake mix and then the pecans.

No, you’re not seeing double. I’m doing two recipes at once this time. Don’t expect a runny cake mix when you “pour” your batter in. It’s more like a cookie batter consistency so you’ll need to push it into the bottom of the pan and level it out before the next step.

*

This topping turns into a soft and gooey layer on top if you don’t over cook it. Soften the cream cheese, add the two eggs and mix, then the vanilla & powdered sugar.

*

Pour it on top and spread it around.

*

Bake at 350 for 40 minutes – no more – no less, and you’ll have a nice golden brown top to slice in to.

I’m flying to two fly-ins, one for lunch and another at dinner time so I doubled up. Only problem I have is trying not to dive into it before I get there!

Oh, Helen, very good question. Not 2 Buck Chuck but in my price range. Cabernet, Columbia Crest, and no, I don’t recommend it. Try Menage a Trois. Love it!

What a yummy-looking take-along! You forgot one important ingredient, Judy…. what type of wine is that? :-))
