Jul 2015 Tailwheel training …. and so much more!
An Awesome Experience

Thank you to Brian Lansburgh for some very fun updates from Sisters Eagle Airport in Oregon. Sisters is where our LLT Tailwheel Endorsement Scholarship winner, Stirling Moore, has been studying and training with Brian. For anyone who believes tailwheel endorsement training has to be stressful and fraught with tension, take a look at this. They’re having a blast out there!

“Whew! Whata day! Very successful. Â Stirling (right) loading chickens with Julie Benson and Kristin Houck just prior to our annual Great Rubber Chicken Drop, which was totally sold out and a big success!”

“Great day of flying today. Stirling and I went to the Erickson Aircraft Collection in Madras, she met the “Geezer Patrolâ€, had a doughnut and posed with the P51. Tomorrow she gets to fly the Super Decathlon, and the day after that, Capt. Jay Haldeman’s J-5. She’s having birthday dinner with the Bensons tonight and a hangar party tomorrow night. Whew, makes me tired just thinkin’ of all this socializin’!!”

“Stirling did a dead stick with the 140 into Madras, then hopped in Ed and Dee’s Super Decathlon for a little acro.”

“Then back to Tailwheel Town in the 140 after a quick little touch and go at “The Catbox†(which is not an airport). We’re having some fun!”
I would like to thank everyone who donated to our scholarship fund and made Stirling’s tailwheel endorsement possible. I would particularly like to thank Brian Lansburgh for donating his time, energy and aircraft and for making the tailwheel endorsement process a fabulous experience for Stirling.
