Jan 2019 Tess Morris-Paterson (UK)
Tess Morris-Paterson is based at EGLK, Blackbushe Airport, Yateley, UK.
I’m 32 years old and this year decided that I wanted to change careers and become a commercial airline pilot. It took me 8 weeks to complete my EASA PPL in the stunning Scottish Highlands, and I’m now looking for opportunities to fly different types of aircraft and also build my hours needed for the CPL. I would love to do my acrobatics rating and often dream about it! I would also love to do a mountain rating, having spent a lot of my life skiing, this sounds fantastic to me.
I’m very pleased to be a part of this group. I’m working in California from January to February (NASA based at Silicon Valley), so very keen to get more involved in US based aviation.
Ratings: EASA PPL
Aircraft flown: Piper PA-38, Cessna 152
Dream Taildragger: Yakovlev (Yak) – or any Russian models!
Thoughts on taildragging: I started learning for my PPL in September 2018 and my instructor didn’t stop talking about how incredible taildraggers are, and also how difficult they are to land. I would really like to experience this, and even become proficient if I can!
