Vanessa Jump Nelson’s Oshkosh Adventure

Vanessa Jump Nelson (J-3 Cub pilot from Oregon) had her very own Oshkosh adventure last week, ironically during the week of Sun ‘n Fun in Florida. No, she wasn’t confused! Her professional life brought her to Wisconsin and even though she was two hours away in Milwaukee, she couldn’t imagine being so close to the mecca of general aviation and not finding a way to get there.

Two gals, both with the name “Nelson”, both who fly Cubs,  met at Oshkosh last week!

Vanessa was so tickled with the experience, she wanted to share it and her pictures with us all. Please check out the following PDF file for all the fun details!!

Thanks for writing about your visit to Wisconsin! I was so thrilled when I got your message saying you were traveling to Milwaukee, giving me a chance to meet a sister taildragger pilot from across the country! The photos of the snowbanks were great. I’m sure that without them, many wouldn’t believe that the northern half of Wisconsin, starting around Oshkosh, was still covered in snow! For anyone who hasn’t seen the EAA Museum, Vanessa’s photos are awesome. Non-Airventure months are a good time to go, and EAA has special events there throughout the year.

Judy, thank you for making this sisterhood possible!
