It’s going to be sad leaving the beautiful State of Maine behind us but very exciting New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Rhode Island lay ahead. Boyd and I are continuing our flight around America in our experimental RV7, two happy souls enjoying the heck out of this trip! If you’re anywhere near our flight path, we’d love to hear from you.
Tomorrow. This is a very rough idea of where our RV7 intends to fly us tomorrow (Thursday 5/24/18). Departing Rockland, ME (KRKD), destination Newport, RI (KUUU).
I’m departing the incredible State of Maine on a happy note, now that I’ve visited with the lady taildragger Queen of Piper Super Cruisers, on FLOATS, Mary Build. If having owned five PA-12 Super Cruisers doesn’t qualify for Queen, nothing will! Thank you Mary for a lovely lunch at your lakeside home and showing us your one-of-a-kind Super Cruiser at Lewiston, rebuilt with mostly new, specialty parts. It’s a real 180 hp beauty.
And since we’re in the area, a visit to the uncharted grass strip where my Happy Champ once lived, Dresden Mills, ME was a must. Sadly, nobody home.
Another day, another lighthouse! The Two Lights Lighthouse at Cape Elizabeth, ME.
And at the end of the line, Atlantic waves were lapping against the massive rocky coastline. My favorite seafood destination – the Lobster Shack.
Cape Elizabeth, Maine
Oh baby, full belly fried clams, the BEST anywhere. I have no idea why I’m not losing weight on this trip! An awesome and oh-so-fattening dinner at the Lobster Shack. 🙂
If you are along our flight path tomorrow, or as we continue around the perimeter of the USA, we’d love to meet you. Please post a comment or email me at LadyTaildraggers@gmail.com.
