I’ve had some of the best times during training. I was doing my tailwheel endorsement during the winter. One day my instructor and I headed over to Candlewood Lake for a bunch of touch and goes on the ice and a photo op.

All was fine until the engine decided to get balky just as we were headed for a soft spot that was covered in water. The instructor took over, pounded on the throttle and thank goodness, we were out of there in the nick of time! Just another fun moment in the Cub.
